Giving Glory to God
Is your life centered on Christ?
Student Handout
1.) What Does Giving Glory Look Like?
Reflect:
What do your current actions look like?
Do your actions represent Christ well?
What did Jesus say about how we act?
Scripture: Matthew 5:13–16
Salt of the earth: preserves, enhances, influences.
Light of the world: shine so others may see your good deeds and glorify God.
Living Set Apart
Daily surrender: choosing to live for Christ, not yourself.
Being different from the world:
The world: selfish, rude, prideful.
Jesus: kind, humble, gentle, patient.
Your actions reveal who is on the throne of your heart.
Matthew 7:15–20 – “By their fruit you will recognize them.”
Challenge: Will you choose daily to glorify Him through your actions?
2.) What Does Giving Glory Feel Like?
Matthew 16:24 – “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.”
Glorifying God can feel uncomfortable—it means living differently from the world.
It removes pride and ego, reminding us that Jesus gave His life for us.
Giving glory feels:
Peaceful
Light
Restful (Matthew 11:28–29)
Reflection: Even when no one is watching, God is. He sees your heart, your intentions, and your posture.
Prayer: “Less of me, God, more of You.”
3.) What Does Giving Glory to God Sound Like?
Praise & Worship – singing, declaring His greatness.
Matthew 15:31
Thanksgiving – giving thanks in all things.
1 Timothy 4:4
Testimony – sharing what God has done in your life.
Matthew 24:14
Prayer – inviting God in through communication.
Matthew 21:22
Final Reflection
We glorify God through our actions, feelings, and speech.
Galatians 5:22-25 – “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.”
Living by the Spirit = Living for God = Giving Him Glory.
Reflect on these characteristics and see where in your life you produce good fruit and bad fruit!
